J’adore à?a.

Vendeuse : Oui. Parce que le denier est plus élevé.

Présentatrice (off) : Modèle numéro 2. Milieu de gamme. A 12,95$. 40 deniers.

Moi, à?a me plaà?t assez.

Présentatrice (off) : Modèle 3. Haut de gamme. 34$. 10 deniers. 24% de Lycra.

(Musique.

! Le tour est joué !

*Dear friends, please keep in mind that the funding for this blog comes from the shop section. Please have a look at it.*

Host : (To Josée, the make-up artist) Thank you, Josée. (To the viewers) Oh no! A run, again! Women who, like me, wear stockings on a regular basis, can buy 2 or 3 pairs each week. It’s a lot of money. It can cost up to CA$400 per year. Can we save enough money by buying stockings of a better quality? It’s what we will try to know today, by going shopping. And fortunately, I have a spare pair.(Music and cutaway shot. In a hosiery store.)Host: (To the clerk) When I purchase hosiery, which questions should I ask myself, at first?

Clerk: First, is it for a party, or is it pantyhose for everyday use, for work, and second, if you want a support panty or not, and if you will wear them with open-toes shoes or not.

Host: What should I look for to have more resistant pantyhose?

Clerk: The denier must be higher. The lower the denier, the sheerer the hosiery. And another very important factor, it’s the Lycra inside the product. It exists in 100% Nylon, that is, without Lycra, but it may slide down along the leg. It will slide down. With Lycra, it stays better on the leg, and also, it’s more clinging.

(Music and cutaway shot. At the hairdresser).

Host: (To the hairdresser) What are the opportunities for you to wear sheer hosiery?

Hairdresser (Lady 1): The most often in parties. Christmas parties and the likes.

Lady 2: Each time I wear a skirt or a dress, I wear sheer hosiery.

Lady 3: At work, on a regular basis. Or for stepping out.

Lady 4: When I put on a dress. Sometimes for work or to step out.

Host (off): Claudine, Amélia, Katia and Sylvie, work at Saint-Laurent of Longueil’s hairdresser shop. They accepted to model for us for a few days.

Host (back to the hosiery store): We chose a few styles for our 4 testers. First, a quite inexpensive style, I believe.

Clerk: The first one is quite sheer, but is OK for every day’s use. Support panty and reinforced toes.

Host (off): Style number one. Low range. CA$7,50. 15 deniers. 6% Lycra.

(Back to the hairdresser salon.)

Lady 1: I didn’t really like the comfort, the toes. There is no reinforcement. Plus, the first time I put them on, I got a run. The first day.

Lady 2: It’s quite soft. It moves on the skin. The only trouble, is that it’s not durable.

Lady 3: When I have them on, just sitting down or standing up makes creases.

Lady 4: I like it very much. It was comfortable to move. It’s supple. It clung well the leg. It was quite robust. No run.

(Music and cutaway shot. In the street)

Host: (to a man in the street) You, as a man, what do you think of women who wear hosiery? Do you find it sexy?

Man 1: Of course, I find this sexy. I love it!

Man 2: It can be suggestive, it can also be only aesthetic.

(Music and cutaway shot. Back to the hosiery store)

Host: Second style?

Clerk: The second style is a 40 deniers. So, it’s good for someone who wears a skirt, who doesn’t want a too opaque product that covers the leg completely. It’s quite silky.

Host: Is it more resisting?

Clerk: Yes it is, because the denier is higher.

Host (off): Style number 2. Middle range. CA$12,95. 40 deniers. 21% Lycra

(Back to the hairdresser salon.)

Lady 1: Me, the number 2, I loved it. The reinforced toes, I like it quite a lot. I have toes that are aggressive to the stockings. The comfort, too, at the panty. I loved it. I had no run.

Lady 2: It’s a massacre. It’s a torture. It’s difficult to put on. It’s like I had a baby diaper between the legs. And I cannot pull it up to the waist, like I did for the style number 1.

Lady 3: It looked very much like opaque tights.

(Music and cutaway shot. In the street)

Man 3: It can be sexy, indeed.

Man 4: It depends on the person. It makes the legs more shaped, most of the times.

(Back to the hosiery store)

Host: The third style is really a luxury style that we decide to purchase, isn’t it?

Clerk: It’s a product from a designer. It’s 10 deniers, so it’s sheerer. No reinforced toes, so it can be worn with sandals without problems. And for the support, it’s tighter on the thighs and the hips. See? It’s very tight.

Host (off): There’s no risk to suffocate, at least?

Clerk: No, you must take the right size, but be extremely careful, given if you take too large, it will slide down.

Host (off): Style number 3. High range. CA$34. 10 deniers. 24% Lycra.

(Music. Cutaway shot. Back to the hairdresser salon.)

Lady 1: The reinforcement at the toe is lower than the second style. The panty is "huh!" I can’t breathe. It’s a bit too much. It’s not comfortable.

Lady 2: It’s not too tight. It’s a bit itchy on the skin. To me, it’s quite sheer. It’s like I have no hose at all.

Lady 3: On the leg, it’s too large. It creases.

Host (off): It makes creases?

Lady 3: I should pull it up, pull it up. It slides down all the time.

Host: And the panty?

Lady 3. It’s too tight. Really too tight. Not comfortable.

Lady 4: It’s quite comfortable. Sometimes it’s worth paying a high price. But now, it’s not. I would not pay such a price for such a pantyhose.

Host (off): Even if they chose the size that fits them, 2 of our 4 testers felt really uncomfortable in the pantyhose number 3. Now, the final results. The first style gets 3 votes. The second style gets 1 vote. The third style gets zero vote. They prefer comfort to durability.

Lady 1: I was surprised to feel comfortable. I was very surprised.

Host: If you prefer a more resisting pantyhose, don’t forget the check the deniers. The higher deniers, the more durable the pantyhose is. For comfort, look the percentage of Lycra.

Man 5: I like a more natural look. I pity the women who wear hose. I find it boring. I never tried, but it’s what I see.

Host (close to a washing-machine): To maximize the durability of your hosiery, it’s better to wash them by hand, but we don’t always have the time, so we can wash them in the washing-machine, on the program "Wool", but what’s important is to use that kind of fishnet bag to put the hosiery inside. It will save it from running. That’s all!

No More Google Ads on Fantasy Stockings

Dear friends, I would like to give you an update about Fantasy Stockings.  As you may notice, there are some changes taking place on this website and you may be curious to know about it.

Fantasy Stockings no longer runs Google Adsense advertisement (or ads generated by any other pay per click network) on the blog posts.  In general that means that user experience will be greatly improved.

Perhaps this was not really the way it was planned by me.  I was hoping that by having Google Adsense on my blog I would be able to generate some funds in order to maintain this blog.  Just a few days ago Google Adsense disqualified Fantasy Stocking due to an article published about a male fashion model wearing hosiery.

As I obviously would not want to limit myself with the content published on my blog, I am transferring to another way of operating without being limited with what topics I can publicly discuss here.  I knew this would happen some day, so I had a back up option ready to launch waiting, as a source of funding instead of Google ads.

For this reason this website is taking a dual form.  It is partially a blog, partially an online shop for popular Polish brands like Gatta, Gabriella, Fiore, and perhaps soon I can introduce some like Sesto Senso, Ballerina, Intrigo, and Mona (Tespol).

You are welcome to browse my initial selection at the Shop Section.

Chanel Iman, Not Just a Pretty Face

by Oliver, France

Chanel Iman in Strumpfhosen, StrГѓВјmpfe, Wà?sche

Is there more about Chanel Iman than meets the eye?  When she is walking around, prancing around and posing in front of a crowd of photographs on the golden runway, wearing beautiful clothes made by the best designers from the whole world, we just see another new gorgeous American beauty, is that all we can say about her, or can we investigate a little bit more and discover very interesting things in her life, or is her life just boredom ?

First of all we can notice that she sometimes looks Afro-American, then on other pictures, displaying a large white teethed smile, her shiny cheekbones showing her happiness at wearing marvellous dresses and getting her endless legs covered with bright sheer tights or smooth stockings, she looks more Asian but still black, we are a little bit puzzled about it.

- Chanel Iman in Strumpfhosen, StrГѓВјmpfe, Wà?scheWe just wonder, where does that cute girl come from, there is something strange in her look?  Actually we are quickly told that she is part Korean and part Afro-American.  Her Korean mother was born in Seoul.  Her father is Afro-American. If you are ever in Los Angeles, you may visit the clothing store (The Red Bag Boutique) that Chanel’s mother opened, not without the help of her daughter, of course.

It is thanks to her aunt that she could become a model.  At the age of 13 Chanel’s aunt took her to California to meet with modelling agencies and as a result Chanel signed up with Ford Models.

What about her name, it sounds weird, not American at all, Arabian?  Her real first name is Robinson, just like that of a cast away seaman Robinson Crusoe on an isolated island, who after rambling around finally met his companion named “Friday”.  But our Robinson Chanel Iman is not alone at all right now, she is even invited to the White House parties by the current president of the United States, Barack Obama.

Is she a new Marylin Monroe, a new American President’s lover, a new coming icon, is a new romance on its way in the White House?  What about Robinson’s private life?  I guess not, she is not living with a companion like Friday.

By the way, her first name, Chanel, was chosen by her mother.  While pregnant, she had a book with her about Coco Chanel, hopefully for us for these days she had no book about Karl Lagersfeld.

Her father used to be a professional basketball player and already earned a lot of money with that sport by the time she went to school.  Our princess girl was not compelled of working hard at school, she was a real beauty.  Nowadays Atlanta is a very progressive and tolerant place.  For example, they have a very big and active gay community and about 1 in 5 residents is part of the LGBT community.

Being a modern girl in a modern city, Chanel Iman recently started her internet blog and is now involved in a Kinect game on Xbox.  We could say she is rather a business woman and not just a beautiful dummy.  She is a rare combination of pretty and smart.

alles was man ГѓВјber sie sagen kann?

garter belt and lace stockings - Chanel Iman - Chanel Iman in Strumpfhosen, StrГѓВјmpfe, Wà?sche

- чуÐ»Р“ђВєГђВё - Chanel Iman in Strumpfhosen, StrГѓВјmpfe, Wà?sche

stockings and red top - fashion model photoshoot - Chanel Iman in Strumpfhosen, StrГѓВјmpfe, Wà?sche

Ist Michelle eifersГѓВјchtig?

Men and Lingerie Stores – response to Hosiery Advocate’s blog post

This is a response to the blog post by Hosiery Advocate – Should (lingerie) stores be required to hire men?

Situation re-visited:

If a man applies to work in a lingerie store and gets declined because of his gender, is this wrong?

I called Employment Standards BC, they said “possibly” and refused to say anything else.

I called Human Rights BC, they also said “possibly”, and told me that if Eugene wants an answer, he should take this case to court or at least submit it for review.

So as you see, it’s a grey area.  However, most likely stores would suffer because some female clients would not feel comfortable shopping there.  I did a post on that before where I asked some women I knew about their comfort level.

My visit to Toronto Wolford Boutique

When I was inToronto, I went to see the local Wolford boutique at Yorkville.  They already had their fall collection out and I asked for permission to take some photos for my blog.

At some point later I had a pleasant discussion with the manager, Olga, and she told me that she loved Wolford even before she started to work for the brand.  It means a lot to me when people love what they sell even in their off time.

I showed Olga my blog and she saw that I had a section for boys.  I told her that some men tell me that they like to wear pantyhose, but they are afraid to actually show up to a store and buy it.  It turns out that they have a lot of men coming to buy pantyhose and Wolford staff have no problem with men who have such preferences.

However, another young staff wasn’t wearing pantyhose.  I kind of wondered why and the manager told me that this girl just got hired and doesn’t know yet what’s required for the job.  I’d add it into my work policy book!

It was a good experience to go there and see what they have.  Their boutique is much larger than in Vancouver.

My amazing visit to the Fogal store in Toronto

On Wednesday I got a chance to visit Toronto Fogal store with my pantyhose friend, David from Toronto.  He is that Canadian gentleman who sent me some Wolford pantyhose to try out.  Up to this point we only exchanged messages online, so I it was the first time that we got to see each other in person.  Both of us were excited to meet and check out Fogal.

As we walked in, we were greeted by a young lady named Melanie who was wearing fun tiger-print pantyhose.  She asked what we were interested in and pointed out that some of the summer collection items were on sale.  With her help I picked out to try 2 pairs – seamless low rise UNA pantyhose and backseam pantyhose with a Cuban heel called Belle Epoque.  I also tried a shiny sheer pair, but it wasn’t quite enough shine for my concept of “shiny”.

In total I tried on 3 pairs and I got Melanie’s and David’s opinions on how it looks and on what colour is best.  I think that for probably half of my visit I was spinning in front of the mirror and checking out the perfect fit.

The service was great!  Melanie answered all my questions with enthusiasm.  I learned a lot about the brand and I was especially amazed to see that they still have one style there that is 100% nylon.  Turns out that some ladies wanted to have the same pantyhose that they bought decades ago and fell in love with.  Melanie also gave me their fall catalog and a booklet with some history of the brand.  Turns out they’ve been around for 90 years!
I must admit that the service at Toronto location was much better than in Vancouver.  Even though they had only one person working there, she handled everything very well.  Melanie told me that she has a lot of Fogal hosiery at home and she buys multiple pairs of her favorite limited edition designs.  To me it is important to see that staff are in love with the product themselves.

It was a very nice visit and I walked out of there thrilled!  It was very nice of David to get me the perfect “Welcome Back to Toronto” gift – 3 pairs of Fogal pantyhose.  (Maybe some of you know that I used to live in Toronto for many years before I moved to Vancouver.)  I now have 2 pairs of Una and one pair with the Cuban heel.  Since then my hands were all over the package, but I didn’t open it just yet because I want it to be special.

Fogal Boutique in Vancouver – New!

Fogal store opened in Vancouver 2 months ago. They also have locations in New York, Chicago, and Toronto.

I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.  Fogal opened 2 months ago right around the corner, literally, from Wolford!  They have stores in New York, Chicago, Vancouver, and Toronto.

I went inside and the staff were friendly.  They perked up when they realized that I was familiar with Fogal brand.

I was wearing my Wolford pantyhose, Neon 40, with the shine effect.  Right away I got compliments, questions, and even got presented with a similar item from Fogal line.  I asked about seamless pantyhose, but turns out that Fogal does not carry such design.

Correction:  Yes, Fogal has seamless, but they don’t sell it at that boutique.  People buy it online.  Staff at the store didn’t know about this item.

Staff were calling me by my first name and they even offered that I’ll try on samples.  Yes, they’ve got a whole wall of samples that customers can try on before purchasing.  Both customer service and the quality of product were really good.

I only heard of Fogal from other hosiery enthusiasts, but I have never actually had a chance to try it, so I was very interested to have that opportunity.

I tried on snake print and leopard print pantyhose, as you can see on photos here.  Stay up stockings that they had on display also looked really good.  I touched the double silicon lining and it felt like it would be comfortable on the leg, not like cheaper brands that either squash your leg or simply fall off.

There were some points though that caused me to get a little concerned.  First thing that alerted me though is that they don’t sanitize the samples in between.  They tell clients to keep their underwear on when trying, but from my knowledge it’s not good to share socks since some people may have skin problems on their feet.

Second, they destroy all samples once per month at the head office in Europe.  Even staff can’t keep it for themselves.  Why?  Because it is a luxury brand, so that’s the proper thing to do, as I was told by the staff.

Since you know how I am about stitching my pantyhose and reusing it, you can probably guess my reaction!  I am not suggesting to exhibit flawed product, but there are charities like “dress for success” where women would appreciate donated used hosiery.  Vancouver is a very eco-friendly city.

It was a very nice experience overall to visit their store.  The atmosphere is very high end and they have nice displays.  I greatly recommend you to pay a visit.  They gave me two catalogs to take home, but I couldn’t wait and looked through them as soon as I left the store.  I am glad to see that serious hosiery brands are coming to North America and I hope that they’ll bring along a wave of femininity that will inspire women to dress beautifully.

Wall of samples on display.

Great selection of colours.

for open-minded only: Novelty Stores

Sometimes I visit a local novelty store in Vancouver on Granville street from time to time to chat with the owner and I may buy an item or two for novelty entertainment.

It’s a taboo topic to some people to even talk about this kind of stuff. World’s famous sexologists recommend couples to visit this kind of places, so do I. Sexuality is a big part of your life, no matter whether you accept it or deny it.

It’s kind of funny, but whenever I am stuck with some kind of computer problems I call there because the owner is very-well skilled with all the tech stuff.  Yes, I call the sex shop to get help with my computer homework!

Isn’t that a novelty already?
