A few years back my friend Julia sent me a package from Ukraine. It contained many cool souvenirs and of course, knowing how much I’m into it, she sent 2 pairs of tights.
In my opinion, both styles are quite rare. I’ve seen beige back seam tights before with a black seam and with a beige seam, but never a darker shade like this, especially with a reinforced toe.
Polka dots are common, but to find them in grey is not. To my surprise both styles turned out to be quite durable.
If you are wondering when these photos were taken, I will surprise you – just about 2 days ago! Yes, Calgary still has snow falling from time to time. It is almost March and I still didn’t pack away my winter jackets.
Here are photos of the packages. Giulia brand and Duve brand.
These are Olbia tights by Fiore. They are sheer, with a red band around the thigh. These pictures are of my teen cousin playing dress up in my clothes and my shoes. She had so much fun and she loves pantyhose!
These tights were previously modeled by Julia earlier. She is a good friend of mine and she loves pantyhose. How come all these women just love the red detailing?
In case you like the tights, you can get them here – Olbia by Fiore.
Lately people compliment me a lot about wearing hosiery and say that seeing real life pictures really helps them to make a purchasing decision. It is common that hosiery may look somewhat different on the legs in daylight compare to images on the packages.
Here are some pictures for you of me wearing Zilda tights. I love anything sheer to waist because it emphasizes the length of my legs. I really like how these photos came out. Subtle floral pattern along the leg is not too over the top, suitable for visiting family functions, for example.

It is currently on sale, have a look!
Heila is one of the limited editions by Fiore, no longer produced. I like styles like that with a subtle pattern and a t-top. I wore these tights around the house and then headed for a walk outside, wearing a pair of flats and a jean skirt.
Just for the photos, I put a pair of orange heels to look more like the model on the package of the tights.
I personally think that this kind of pattern at the back would look best with some form of a gothic outfit. I’d totally wear that to a heavy metal concert. How would you wear something like that?

This is my friend, Iryna. She is a model from Vancouver. I got these photos from one of her photoshoots that she did. As you see, there are a lot of garter straps on her stockings. Actually, these are stay ups with the sock part sort of hanging from the welt, but she attached a garter belt on top of it to make it look even more sophisticated. I’d be interested to hear your thoughts!
“With her deliberate take on Ann Margret’s bombshell visuals, Lana’s slightly surreal brand of Americana retro falls in line perfectly with fashion’s recent provocative references to the past.”
– Rolling Stone
Such a true statement! We saw some images of Lana Del Rey while looking for a model to feature here, and were convinced they were pictures taken back in the sixties. Her sixties inspired hair, makeup, and wardrobe selections took us instantly back to those days of go-go girls, vinyl boots and brightly colored tops with miniskirts!
Lana Del Rey has been the stage name of Elizabeth Grant since 2011. Elizabeth was born in 1985 and raised in Lake Placid New York. She has enjoyed successes as a singer-songwriter and model.
Currently Del Rey is one of two candidates being considered to record the theme song for the next James Bond movie. The other contender is Sam Smith, a new singing sensation from England.
Last year Lana did the hit theme song for “The Great Gatsby” – (Young and Beautiful) , and also recorded the song “Once Upon a Dream” for the Disney movie “Maleficent”.
She has had an equally successful run in fashion modeling, having graced the cover of Vogue numerous times, as well as Rolling Stone, GQ, L’Officiel, and Fashion, to name a few.
We hope you enjoy these photographs of the beautiful and talented Elizabeth Woolridge Grant, aka Lana Del Rey!
These are Bona by Fiore brand. I love how they look with a sharp black outfit!
