Giuseppe Palmisano and 300 Women in White Tights Art Project

July 4, 2017 under Art

This work is by an Italian Aritst, Giuseppe Palmisano, it just happened a few days ago in Pesaro, Italy, on June 25th. He scouted 300 women to wear white tights and pose for him. The art project is called Empty (Vuoto). Surprisingly, women did it free of charge just to support the art. They didn’t even get to keep the tights.

I’ve read somewhere that he is going to repeat it with darker skin ladies wearing black tights. However, I’m doing all this through Google Translate, so if someone here speaks Italian, can you have a look and let us know?

Giuseppe welcomes all women, regardless of size and age, but they can’t have any distracting tattoos. I couldn’t include all the photos that I found just because ladies are topless and I am trying to draw a line somewhere in terms of what I want to display on this blog, even though I think that artistic nudity is beautiful.

Pierre Molinier’s work at an Art Exhibit at PhotoEspaña 2017 in Madrid

June 15, 2017 under Art

fetish, Madrid, artist, photographyPhotoEspaña, Círculo de Bellas Artes, hosting an art exhibition of many artists, including the French photographer and painter, Pierre Molinier, who was an avid black stockings fetishist and a transvestite.

This exhibit takes place in Madrid from May 31st to August 27th, 2017.

Is anyone currently in Spain now? Can you visit and tell me what it was like? I wrote about him earlier, his work is for sure a bit of a taboo, don’t go with your children.

There is a lot of explicit nudity and maybe even violence from what I’ve read about the artist. This would be an 18+ exhibit. This French artist was considered completely shameless, or perhaps just way too progressive for his era.

Paul Kelley, Canadian artist who paints pantyhose

June 5, 2017 under Art

Paul Kelley artist pantyhose drawing 2017-The_Art_Of_Flying-24x20-webOne of the people on my twitter account brought this artist to my attention. Paul Kelley is based in Nova Scotia, Canada. If you browse through his galleries, especially the dance one, there are a lot of paintings of graceful women in pantyhose.

I also spotted a few stockings and garter belts in his sensual collection. Way to go! I am always trying to support local artists, especially those who admire pantyhose and stockings as much as I do.

If you want to see more of his work, please visit his website – http://www.paulkelley.ca/

I just subscribed to his newsletter and I hope to see his exhibit live some day. From time to time I make it to Nova Scotia because my uncle lives not far from there and also because of my love for the ocean.

The most photogenic pair of pantyhose!

July 5, 2016 under Fiore

Do you agree? These pantyhose photograph so well. I think they look much better on the legs than they look on the package cover. These are Altea by Fiore.

I put it on, started to play in front of the camera, and didn’t want to stop. Sexy and flirty, this print looks so cool! I just loved it. It is sheer to waist with a t-top, cotton gusset, and invisibly reinforced toe.

Is Pole Dancing a Sport?

February 21, 2014 under Art

Located in the London suburbs, the International Pole Sports Federation is trying to disembarrass "pole sports" from its association with strip clubs and find a way to include it in the Olympics. This is not surprising to happen because a similar attempt was made in 2012 but it has not been successful.

What makes pole dancing currently so controversial is its unavoidable dimly lit undertones, in spite of the fact that they banned pole dancing staples such as removing pieces of clothing. Other steps taken towards being taken seriously as a sport include giving technical code names for moves and specifying strict scoring rules based on their difficulty. Although some dancers may argue that regimentation has gone to the point of taking the fun out of it, people are still reluctant to the idea of it becoming an Olympic sport.

jan_irvine_pole_dancerIts origins, however, are not what you might expect. Swinging around vertical poles and ropes has been around since the 12th century when Mallakhamb was introduced in India as an exercise for male wrestlers. Surely enough pole dancing is still regarded as a form of exercise, as it requires strength, flexibility and endurance.  In addition to improving physical fitness, pole dancing is also used by women to build up confidence.

Undoubtedly, pole dancing is becoming more and more popular. With appearances in films such as Desperate Housewives and The View, increasingly more celebrities (Jessica Alba, Demi Moore, Britney Spears, to name a few) practice it on a daily basis. Pole dancing, after all, is no longer a show for men as it is a way for women to achieve something for themselves. Only time will tell if it’ll succeed becoming an Olympic game.

Gymnastics and Bodysuit Magic

July 8, 2013 under Weird

I saw photos of this woman in a circus bodysuit on someone else’s Facebook page and I just had to share it.  As many of you may know by now, I am a big fan of the circus and their costumes, bodysuits, and other outfits for the stage.

To me circus is part of country’s culture, like art galleries and music orchestras.  If it would be up to me, I’d have this kind of art funded by the government of each country.

How does this woman manage to be that flexible and smile while doing those positions? I guess it’s one thing to reach such flexibility, but a whole different matter to perform with a big smile as if there is nothing to it.

I like her sheer and sensual bodysuit and maroon leg covers.  It creates the illusion as if she is wearing basically nothing.  For Cique Du Soleil, for example, some outfits need to be changed every few weeks because of the vigorous activities these performers do.

I wonder how she can bend her spine like that!

Second Chance for Women’s Pantyhose

pantyhose art arrangement - hand crafted

womens pantyhose reused

Since the 60’s, women cannot imagine their life without pantyhose because of all the benefits that this invention presents.  In general, hosiery used to be darned to a point that one would do anything possible to preserve it and prolong its life.  It would never get thrown away!

These days, as the standard of living improved and quite often old ripped pantyhose are thrown away.  But what a waste!  For some appearance of a run is just the beginning.  There is a way to give used pantyhose another chance life and it is something that doesn’t even cross people’s mind.

The uses are so diverse!  There are many options what to do with ripped pantyhose – dusting cloth, dish cloth, storage casing for onions and garlic and for Christmas tree decorations.  But the most interesting idea is to make crafts!  Creativity is unlimited when it comes to using this gentle, light, and romantic fabric to decorate your home.

flower pantyhose on a curtain - decorationWhat an entertaining and wonderful idea it is to create flower compositions from nylon!  From sheer fabric one can make delicate flowers, which can be even used as hair clips, brooches, wedding decorations, and lamps.

Her flower compositions are amazing!  Literally, from an ugly duckling Inna creates a beautiful swan.  Sheer fabric, tape, and glue transform in the hands of the craftswoman and acquire a new life in a form of pretty flowers.  This gives used pantyhose a second chance to life and help to reduce landfill waste.

In Ukraine this method is new and only a few people work with it. Inna Kostenko hopes to develop her skills to a higher level and eventually start to teach classes on pantyhose art.

Screensaver: Anne Hathaway in Stockings and Garter Belt

December 24, 2012 under Art

Feel free to use this screensaver of Anne Hathaway digital drawing in stockings and garter belt.  It is supposed to be from the theme of Alice in Wonderland.

Click on the image below to download full resolution file.

I remember though that in the movie of Alice in Wonderland she gets reprimanded for not wearing stockings to the gathering at which she walks off and finds the rabbit hole.

Is there such thing as too bright or too patterned when it comes to pantyhose?

December 12, 2012 under What to Avoid

Is there such thing as too bright or too much when it comes to hosiery?  Below are some designs by Zohara tights, Israeli brand (even though most likely not made there).

I personally find this a bit of an overkill.  The fact that the model looks pissed off also puts me off.  What do you think?
