Polka Dot Pantyhose – Odd or Not?

I saw another blog featuring this outfit and I really liked the pantyhose.  No matter how bad the photos are, pantyhose always catches my eye.

I would like to open a discussion to whether even the cutest pattern can really be a fashion crime. In my opinion this is one of those cases.

Maybe she is just starting to model, but I’d seriously think about the theme of the shoot. This girl was competing with other models for some giveaway, but she didn’t win.  Could it be for the lack of styling?

However, I’ll tell you the truth, I was confused about the rest! Summer sandals combined with a sweater? Matrix-style stern sun glasses and vixen leather totally clashes with the innocent playful polka dot, and that garbage bin in the background ruins the composition.

I applaud her for trying though and for wearing pantyhose, even with those summer shoes that I think would look much better with tan 8 den rather than black and patterned hosiery.

What kind of hosiery would you choose for this outfit in order to make it a winner?

Three Legged Pantyhose Patent

3 legged pantyhose American patent 1997 trioWHAT IS THIS???

No, no, no, it’s not for 3 legged mutants.

This is an actual pantyhose patent (1997) with a spare leg that is supposed to be worn 1.5 times longer than regular pantyhose.

A spare leg is hidden in a pocket until a run forms in one of the legs in use.  Then the defective leg is tucked away and the new one is put to work.

I can understand the durability part, but having a bunch of nylon fabric tucked away somewhere would cause an interesting bulge on a woman, especially if this pocket is located in the front of the crotch as illustrated on the diagram below.

These are the weirdest pantyhose I’ve seen, so three legged pantyhose tops my list.  Have you see anything crazier?

Gymnastics and Bodysuit Magic

I saw photos of this woman in a circus bodysuit on someone else’s Facebook page and I just had to share it.  As many of you may know by now, I am a big fan of the circus and their costumes, bodysuits, and other outfits for the stage.

To me circus is part of country’s culture, like art galleries and music orchestras.  If it would be up to me, I’d have this kind of art funded by the government of each country.

How does this woman manage to be that flexible and smile while doing those positions? I guess it’s one thing to reach such flexibility, but a whole different matter to perform with a big smile as if there is nothing to it.

I like her sheer and sensual bodysuit and maroon leg covers.  It creates the illusion as if she is wearing basically nothing.  For Cique Du Soleil, for example, some outfits need to be changed every few weeks because of the vigorous activities these performers do.

I wonder how she can bend her spine like that!

I am not sure where this picture is from, but those girls are looking as if they are about to enter a Halloween beauty contest.  I especially like the green girl because it looks like she put the most effort into her outfit and concept.

Correction!  Thanks to hosiery advocate’s note we now know that this kind of camel toe pantyhose is actually designed and pattented in United States by a female entrepreneur.  But hey, perhaps the market for it is only in Hanoi!

Update: I went to visit my friend who is from Vietnam and I was wearing nude pantyhose and my Cassadei shoes.  I asked her for slippers, but she offered me flip flops.  Turns out that this is what they do, regardless whether the sock or pantyhose are designed for flip flops or not.

One of my friends from Germany told me that he saw this design on the market in Germany and even pantyhose that have sets of full toes (that I’d love to see!).

As a response to Raymond, I’d like to mention that in fact this is very weird to me as well.  I probably wouldn’t couple flip flops and pantyhose at all.  However, I must say that I tried once camel-toe socks with Japanese flip flops for a Japanese photoshoot.  That felt very unusual between the toes, but it was a very interesting experience for me to wear it.
This is an example of pantyhose from Poland that to my knowledge is available on Vietnamese market as well.  This is probably the closest that I’ve seen to camel-toe pantyhose.  Also, I should mention that I have a young female Greek friend who is a newcomer to Canada and she wears this kind of pantyhose in the summer.  Perhaps such trends are spreading world-wide!  If anyone has an opinion about this or an experience to share with us, I’d be happy to hear it.

White Pantyhose in a Club – Weird?

woman in white pantyhose in a club - weird and rare sightWell, well, I didn’t expect to see that.  I went to a club to watch international DJ competition and I spotted this woman dressed in a vintage apple-print dress and white pantyhose.

She was also wearing glasses and her dancing very well matched her appearance.  I was surprised with what she was wearing, so I figured I’ll take a photo for you.

On one hand I am amused, but on the other hand I can say that I have respect for this woman.  Her style is very different from the crowd, but she seemed to be quite confident about it. Of course, I was wearing pantyhose too, but mine were dark grey and they blended well with my outfit.

Besides that young woman I don’t remember spotting any other person in pantyhose that tight.
