Celebrities in Mock Stocking Pantyhose

mock stockings pantyhose and celebrities

As the weather is getting colder, Vancouver is filled with Asian girls walking around in mock stocking pantyhose.  I even saw one in Costco the other day with runs in the sheer part all over that didn’t seem to bother her.  Today also spotted a few in transit.

I wrote more on the subject of mock stockings for the next issue of Finn Magazine (contact me for a promo code for that).  Even modeled in pantyhose like that for them, also wearing high heels and short dress, which made my legs look super sexy.  I must say though that Asian girls here only wear such style with flat shoes that are completely non-feminine and jean shorts, almost as an attempt to play down the sexiness of the design.

If I wear something like that, I want to look like a real sex bomb, so in my case flat shoes are out of question. My next “homework” for such designs is to experiment with different colours of mock stocking pantyhose to see which ones work best with my outfits.

Which one of these should I start with?

Pretty Garters – Guest Post Opportunity

I am looking for guest bloggers to write about garters for cross-promotion.

What a pretty accessory, but where did it come from?  At least traditionally, garters were meant to be worn in pairs with stockings to prevent them from falling down.  But isn’t it kind of bad for circulation?

Inna, the woman who did my “history of hosiery” page, said that first stay up stockings came out around 60’s.  Maybe that’s what made the garter obsolete.

There was also something online saying that there used to be tradition of a garter being brought back by the groom to show that he “did it” with the bride.  Some weddings still use it.  I find it kind of immodest, for sure would not want anything of this sort at my own wedding.

But do you notice that women wear these mostly without any stockings at all now?  I’ve been to Can Cun and they had some young bride there walking around in a mini dress, garter, and flip flops.  Can’t get funnier than this!  It was in the evening, so you can’t blame the heat.

I figured I’ll post this and see if anyone would like to do a guest post on this topic.

Almost dropped my garter belt on Valentine’s

I used to have garter belts of different sizes for different fits – waist, hip, and low rise. Now I am only keeping the smallest one.

Sexy Ideas for Valentine’s Day?  Garter belt seemed just right!

I decided to dress up and wear non-stay up (regular old fashioned style) stockings and a garter belt under my knee high skirt on my Valentine’s outing to dinner.

Everything looked excellent when I put it on and my garter belt rested gracefully just above my hips like a pair of low rise pants.

As I was walking to and from the restaurant, I ran into complications.  Stockings began to pull on the garter belt and due to stretchy fabric my belt began to slide down past my hips.

I kept on trying to pull it up, but I was afraid that it may just fall down together with the stockings.  This style would work great in the bedroom for a decorative purpose, but not when you are actually planning to wear it out and do some walking. Later I learned that proper garter belts have at least 6 straps, like those from Gigi’s Intimates.

suspender belt

My stockings were tugging on the garter belt and almost pulled it past my hips as I was walking.

At that point I realized why the other garter belt that I have (comes in a matching set with stockings) is supposed to sit on the waist.

I didn’t like that idea at first since I prefer more of a low rise fit, but now I understand that at least this way it stays where it’s supposed to and won’t slide off my hips.

Later I also realized that some suspender belts tend to unclip, so it’s also important to wear it for half an hour or so at home before going out to see whether suspender straps actually hold on to your stockings.  Once I wore a garter belt and it unclipped 9 times throughout the day.  I counted!

*Friends, please check the hosiery shop section, that’s the only source of funding for the blog.  Please have a look at all the lovely stockings! There are also a few good garter belts there that were not available at the time that I wrote this post. They are new additions – Vision by Fiore and Vesuvio by Fiore.*

Pantyhose that Imitate Stockings

This is a cool peekaboo surprise under a skirt – Fiore pantyhose

Have you tried pantyhose that imitate stockings?  There are many names for it… mock stockings, suspender tights, faux stockings… For sure it’s not for everybody, but I love these pantyhose!

Today I wore it with a medium length skirt and got a lot of compliments from both genders.

They are very cute, especially with the sparkle from metallic Lurex fibre on the fake garters that go up to the waist.  They are sheer on top and more opaque at the bottom with a cotton gusset and reinforced toe.

These pantyhose are by Fiore, it’s a Polish manufacturer of hosiery that is now available in Canada.  As you can see, my shop section is full of it!

Wearing garters over pantyhose (or stockings)

They say that garters are still around because of the old wedding tradition when the groom had to prove that he “did it” with the bride.  Well, I’m glad they are!  I find them super sexy.

It’s a lovely little accessory that only seems to show up at weddings during completely immodest scenes of the groom climbing under the bride’s skirt in public.  In my opinion, this is entertainment for some semi-drunk boys at the wedding, but hardly a sensual moment between the couple considering that perhaps their parents are also watching.

In our private life, if given enough creative imagination, such accessories can add some fire to your intimacy.  Here are some ideas that come to my head.  Feel free to share your ideas, I’ll add them to the list.

Garters are not expensive, you can find some for about $5 in a novelty store and there is really no need to pay more.  Is there a practical application to a garter?  No, not anymore, but in the old days it was used to hold up stockings.   But that’s the beauty of it, it’s worn purely for attention.

1) Peek-a-boo:  If you wear a garter with a loose skirt, it could be a nice peek-a-boo surprise for your husband.  You may totally catch him off guard if you do it in the elevator, for example.

2) Strap for holding surprise tickets:  I can also totally see it as part of presentation for a surprise pair of tickets.  Imagine, you tell him that you have a surprise for him and tell him to search you like a police man in order to find it.

3) Strip-tease:  It could be part of the tease when doing a naughty dance.  It is one more fun item to work with.

Do you have any ideas about garters that you want to share?
