Brilliant Idea! What inspired Wolford shiny pantyhose, Versailles.

This shiny pantyhose has been inspired by a shiny candy wrap!

 Wolford Shiny Pantyhose Story

Inspiration and new ideas sometimes come from unexpected sources.  In 1990’s Wolford came out with Versailles – hosiery with a soft shine.

This idea came to the designer unexpectedly.  He came to a business meeting suffering from a cold and took out a cough candy.  As he unwrapped it, he was fascinated by the shine of the wrap from that lozenge.

As a result, in 1990’s super-sheer summer pantyhose were created.  They made the legs look as if they were bare.  Around the same time, Wolford also came out with a style for men.

This interesting fact about Wolford Shiny Pantyhose was presented by Voque magazine.

Wearing garters over pantyhose (or stockings)

They say that garters are still around because of the old wedding tradition when the groom had to prove that he “did it” with the bride.  Well, I’m glad they are!  I find them super sexy.

It’s a lovely little accessory that only seems to show up at weddings during completely immodest scenes of the groom climbing under the bride’s skirt in public.  In my opinion, this is entertainment for some semi-drunk boys at the wedding, but hardly a sensual moment between the couple considering that perhaps their parents are also watching.

In our private life, if given enough creative imagination, such accessories can add some fire to your intimacy.  Here are some ideas that come to my head.  Feel free to share your ideas, I’ll add them to the list.

Garters are not expensive, you can find some for about $5 in a novelty store and there is really no need to pay more.  Is there a practical application to a garter?  No, not anymore, but in the old days it was used to hold up stockings.   But that’s the beauty of it, it’s worn purely for attention.

1) Peek-a-boo:  If you wear a garter with a loose skirt, it could be a nice peek-a-boo surprise for your husband.  You may totally catch him off guard if you do it in the elevator, for example.

2) Strap for holding surprise tickets:  I can also totally see it as part of presentation for a surprise pair of tickets.  Imagine, you tell him that you have a surprise for him and tell him to search you like a police man in order to find it.

3) Strip-tease:  It could be part of the tease when doing a naughty dance.  It is one more fun item to work with.

Do you have any ideas about garters that you want to share?

Smart hosiery idea when traveling between climates

I was flying from Toronto and the lady next to me was wearing a jean skirt, flats, and opaque pantyhose.  Turns out, she was flying back to Canada from her vacation in St. Lucia.

I asked her about the pantyhose – it seemed strange to me that someone would wear it in that hot climate.  She explained that she left St. Lucia with bare legs because of the heat, but she had a pair of pantyhose in her purse to change into as she arrived to Canada.  Smart!

pantyhose on the airplane

I went to Hawaii and used that trick to adjust!  I love this hosiery idea, it keeps me appropriate for both destinations.

On the photo above you see me in the airplane cabin wearing a hoodie by Public Myth, a dress that my mom bought me, and a pair of natural Falke pantyhose that one of my fans sent me.  It was an awesome trip and I admit that even despite the heat I managed to parade in my tights to the amusement of the public.
