Jessica and Jenna Talackova posing together at Vancouver Gay Pride Parade 2012

Jenna Talackova is now a celebrity, admired by many, especially by the LGBT crowd.  She makes it look so effortless and fun, but in fact she had to put up quite a fight in order to be what she is – a woman.  Jenna began hormone therapy at 14 and had her final operation at 19.  For the reason that she wasn’t born woman, she got disqualified from a beauty pageant, but fought her way back in with Donald Trump’s help.  Now she has plans to do a campaign for PETA.

I am so excited to pose with Jenna Talackova!  She was so nice and she said that she’ll get a chance to strike a good pose for me.  I really like her.  She was the highlight of my day, that’s for sure.  The lady in the picture is most likely her mom, at least that’s what one of the guys told me from Out TV.

More photos of hosiery at Vancouver Pride Parade:

A drag queen in blue fishnet pantyhose encasement and striped rainbow socks.  She enjoyed the attention and agreed to pose for me.  Thank you!

This lady was advocating against circumcision. She had a sexy lace mini dress with black lingerie and stay up stockings under. I asked why she decided to wear lingerie and she said because she wanted to do something fun for Pride!

I thought that these white over the knee socks were cool. Can I find some for myself? I snapped a picture while this woman was talking to someone from one of the booths at the parade.

This girl was wearing patterned fishnets an I thought she looked very cute, so I ran after her to snap a secret picture for my blog. The weather was way too hot for hosiery that day.

This boy was dressed as a woman, wearing opaque pantyhose. I think he was straight because his girlfriend was with him. I asked to take a photo and he shook off some dry grass stuck to his hosiery from his legs – turned out he went for a roll in the grass like that. I wondered why he didn’t wear sheer hosiery in such weather, but he admitted that he has to wear opaque because his legs are not shaved. My conversation came to an end when I suggested to try on sheer hosiery because it’s more sexy and his girlfriend snarled at me “he’s already sexy”.

This cute crossdresser was lip singing to a song and putting on quite a show. I noticed that she was wearing pantyhose and her control top would show when she’d bend over to pick something up. Well, my sharp eye also spotted a little run in her hosiery, but that’s OK – her great dancing compensated for it!

This drag queen was very happy that I wanted to take a picture of her fishnets. She had an elaborate hair piece and people were focused on that. However, she also admitted that her shoes broke, so that’s why she’s wearing sneakers.

These boys were posing together for a picture. One in white pantyhose in the middle and two in black pantyhose on the sides. I think that the middle person had something to do with the Wizard of Oz theme, at least I got to pose with a “Dorothy” earlier from the same fairy tale.

That’s me, grabbing balloons!

This lovely maid posed for a photo. She was wearing fishnet pantyhose with her outfit. Cute!

updates: Wolford size chart is being changed – more accurate chart here!

Such Wolford pantyhose retails for over $200. Choosing the right size would be crucial if ordering online.

… looking at the Wolford size chart

My sweet fan David from Canada offered to send me Wolford pantyhose, as you already know from the previous article.

I told him to buy size  Medium and not anything smaller then that, since Medium is what I usually take in all other brands.

When that pantyhose arrived, I looked at the back and for a moment there got scared.  Could it be that Medium is too large for me?

The size chart on the package didn’t mention the height at all, but according to my waist and hips measurements I would be XS!

My waist is about 65 cm maximum, depending on my what I eat that day, and my hips are always 90 cm.

Medium, according to those numbers, would fit a woman that is approaching plus size parameters in terms of her dress size.

I already had a thought creep through my mind that this pantyhose will be too big.  When I tried it on, Medium was a perfect fit, it couldn’t be better.

So, what’s going on?

I would say that the most important parameter for hosiery sizes is your HEIGHT, given that your weight is proportional. My height of 170 cm (or 5’7” for North America) corresponds to size Medium. However, for clothing like skirts and tops I usually take XS!

I went to the local Wolford store today and another slim and somewhat tall lady like me was assisting me with my questions.

I told her about this sizing confusion and she laughed,  according to the chart she’d also be a totally wrong size.  Just like me, she wears Medium, but according to the chart she’d be somewhere between Small and Extra Small.

Wolford is changing their size chart to show the fit more accurately.  This time they display the HEIGHT of the person too, not just waist and hip measurements.  She pulled out a new size chart and of course I snapped a picture for you.

Yes, according to this new chart I am for sure size Medium!

Smart hosiery idea when traveling between climates

I was flying from Toronto and the lady next to me was wearing a jean skirt, flats, and opaque pantyhose.  Turns out, she was flying back to Canada from her vacation in St. Lucia.

I asked her about the pantyhose – it seemed strange to me that someone would wear it in that hot climate.  She explained that she left St. Lucia with bare legs because of the heat, but she had a pair of pantyhose in her purse to change into as she arrived to Canada.  Smart!

pantyhose on the airplane

I went to Hawaii and used that trick to adjust!  I love this hosiery idea, it keeps me appropriate for both destinations.

On the photo above you see me in the airplane cabin wearing a hoodie by Public Myth, a dress that my mom bought me, and a pair of natural Falke pantyhose that one of my fans sent me.  It was an awesome trip and I admit that even despite the heat I managed to parade in my tights to the amusement of the public.
