I’ve been recently looking at the photos of Jourdan Dunn, a British model of colour. Somehow these darker women are such a minority on the runway that every time I see one, I get really excited.  Even she herself admitted that she was cancelled from Dior runway because she wasn’t the right colour.

People would say that she is a good model material because her look is so versatile, just by changing long black wavy hair to other black short hairstyles her look is dramatically changed. She may look sweet and spontaneous, or completely stern, or like an exotic ball of fire from a mythology book.

I guess in some ways I feel that models like her have a bit of a hair advantage since it is common for ladies of colour to change wigs and thus create all sorts of celebrity hairstyles. White girls keep their hair natural most of the time, so there is a limit to how you can change it up.

There was a point in my life when I wanted to get a real short boyish haircut, but somehow figured it was too permanent to do.  Short hairstyles for women are considered sexy and modern, but when you cut it, you can’t go back. Another thing that persuaded me to keep some length was when I heard that short hair is a real mess when you are on the beach.

Jourdan Dunn has a nice slim body, naturally – that’s the way she was since she was a teenager, kind of skinny and awkward at the time.  It doesn’t mean she doesn’t like to eat, she even hosts her own cooking show called “Well Dunn”.

Stockings, pantyhose, leggings, and other hosiery seems to be part of Jourdan Dunn fantasy photoshoots.  Especially the fishnets layered with stockings caught my attention since it is quite a rare combination to begin with.  This probably caught my attention more and thus landed this article on this blog.
