Today is Remembrance Day

In British Columbia we have a long weekend because of the Remembrance Day.  This is something that is taken very seriously in Canada.

They also call this the Poppy Day – people wear red flower pins on the streets to show that they remember.  We do it to remember the losses of World War I.  Poppies bloomed in some of those battle fields.  Canada is not the only one to observe this day, even though other countries may refer to it by a different name.
