I’ve heard about this, but I didn’t actually think anyone would do that. At least, I’d wear over the knee socks in addition to pantyhose, but never stockings.
I was surprised to find these photos of a Ukranian singer, Nastya Kamenskih, at an award ceremony in 2009. Naturally, she was the winner for “the most beautiful person” in Ukraine for that year.
I also found a photo online from a fashion show (not sure which one, if someone knows, please tell me) of models in black pantyhose with white stockings over it.
Maybe some practical reasons for doing this could be to get that sexy look of stockings and garter belt without showing bare skin that may have imperfections.
I’d love to hear your opinion about this! Would you consider doing that? Do you find it sexy?

Where I live, the weather is extremely hot. Wearing one layer of hosiery, despite all my love for it and will to wear some, is quite difficult. I imagine in these conditions how hard it would be if I had to add an extra layer of hosiery to my pantyhose!
Nevertheless, having said that and on a pure fashion aspect, I find the contrast between the black pantyhose and white stockings quite interesting, especially on the model of the pictures above, as she obviously has great legs. If this trend catches on, maybe black/white is the best color association.
If done right… certainly it can be sexy. However it can look real tacky as well. Also depending on the denier of either pantyhose/stocking it can cause a ‘funky’ pattern that doesn’t look nice and takes away from the smooth texture hosiery creates in the first place.
Now I’d be lying if I said I’ve never done this… although I’ve never tried white over black.
I wouldn’t write this trend off just yet… though it certainly won’t take off in the summer/warmer climates.

This is a good point. I see this in Vancouver sometimes too. People just don’t get it.
The article says “Girls in Moscow”. Those girls are not from Moscow, however. If you notice, they are tourists – they are carrying cameras and posing for pictures with a monument.
But they both look horrible with pantyhose showing like that. Oh! Why don’t other women tell them?
True about the tourist aspect… perfect model for ‘tacky tourist’.
Would other women really approach them to tell them so? To get dressed as such clearly points out that they knew exactly what they were doing… even more so since they’re matching.
It can be nice to get a sneak peak of the reinforced panty when its accidental… not so much when they have it ‘hanging’ out there.
Oh, Russians are not concerned about manners. Some old lady can easily walk by and snarl something like “you are a shame to look at”.
IMHO stockings over tights are a great idea and it looks really sexy. It doesn’t go well with every outfit but with certain really well.

The only thing better than wearing pantyhose is wearing stockings over pantyhose. The look and feel are absolutely amazing, and it just looks wild and naughty. A trend that should be here to stay!!
I know what you are saying, garter belts are very sexy and it seems that people don’t wear them anymore. If this becomes a trend, people will wear more garter belts in addition to their outfit.
